Well.

That was a hiatus alright.  I decided since I have lots of free time now in NYC (and am using Google AdSense to make some extra cash) I should start up the music blog again.

So, most interestingly in music lately is Major Lazer, friend of Diplo crew.  Seriously, have you heard "Pon di Floor"?  Amazing.

Go to maddecent.com to purchase or off of itunes.  This along with Keep It Goin Louder (Feat. Nina Sky) are some great songs from this ridiculous album.  Ms. Thing and Santigold also guest star!

Pop

Suprisingly, I found 2 songs that I love from unexpected people.

The first:

"Guess Who Batman (Fuck You Very Much)" from Lily Allen's new album Stuck On The Naughty Step.  Her light, airy vocals make it seem like she would be singing about sunshine, or daisies, or....well anything but this apparent wanker.  I love it.

(Pre crazy Britney)

A song was found that didn't make the cut onto Britney's "comeback" album, Blackout.  Its called "When U Gon Pull Out"...WHAT?  The extreme attempt at any sort of her former sexuality is hilarious and the beat is fun, so why not love it.'

Really though, with lines like: When you pull out/you gotta know what to do with that thang, how can you not fall in love with America's former pop princess all over again?

C'est nouveau

Thanks again to Pete Wentz for showing his thousands of teenage girl fans some new music.  Only thing is I'm not sure if its good.

Chantal Claret is the lead singer of Morningwood and when I saw them opening for Gang Of Four in 2005 I was amazed.  She stripped, she screamed, she danced and actually upstaged the main act.  "Jetsetter" and "Take off your clothes" were my anthems for the longest time.  I loved the intensity of it, the power of her voice.

This new song "Sugarbaby" has all the makings of a great song.  Except for the chorus.  The guitar solos and hard drums are definate Morningwood style.  The beginning is great and the verses are spot on.  The chorus to me though sounds like every other "edgy" girl on the radio though.

I'm still undecided on it, I know I can't stop listening at the very least.

and since its so infectious:

New Things, New Things

I'm shit at intros.  So other than "This is my blog, read please", I got nada.

Je ne peux pas faire introductions.  Alors, "Voila mon blog".
